Bainbridge Island Garden Tour

Two easy days of nurseries, a landmark reserve, and small-town browsing, all reached by ferry from Seattle. Total drive time is about 1 hour 15 minutes. Reserve Bloedel Reserve tickets and an overnight room ahead of time, and check hours before you go.

  1. Day 1: Gardens, shopping, and an island stay

    1. Ferry: Seattle to Bainbridge Island

    Crossing takes about 35 minutes. Drive to the first stop: about 10 minutes.

    Suggested visit: About 2 hours
    Highlights: A 150-acre estate garden with forest paths, a Japanese garden, reflecting ponds, and manicured landscapes.
    Drive back to Winslow: about 15 minutes

  6. 6. Check in: Eagle Harbor Inn

    Hours: Check in 3:00 PM or later (no dogs)
    Cozy boutique inn steps from the marina, near shops such as Salt House Mercantile, Petit & Olson, and Dana's on Bainbridge.
    The Inn at Pleasant Beach in Lynwood Center is a dog-friendly alternative.
