About this plant
Iris 'Cut to Order' is a tall bearded iris with softly ruffled flowers that bloom from midseason into the later iris season. Rounded white standards carry a delicate blush of pink near their bases, while the broad falls are an even shell pink, creating a gentle two-tone effect. Tangerine beards fade to white at their tips and provide a warm accent against the pastel petals. Upright, sword-shaped green foliage forms tidy fans beneath the flowering stems.
Registered in 2021 by hybridizer Joseph Ghio, 'Cut to Order' is an amoena distinguished by its unusual interpretation of the classic light-over-dark flower pattern. Its soft white and pink coloring is especially suited to cottage gardens, romantic perennial borders, and iris beds, where the lightly contrasting blooms bring a graceful presence to late-spring plantings.
Works well in

Dwarf mock orange · Rose · Delphinium · Pincushion flower · California poppy · Lamb's ear · Soapwort
Design tip
Let 'Cut to Order' soften a planting filled with stronger purples, blues, or reds. Its restrained white and pink coloring provides a visual resting point without disappearing, making it especially useful between more intensely colored iris clumps or bold flowering perennials.
