Iris 'Dig In'

Iris 'Dig In' is a tall bearded iris with exceptionally large, ruffled flowers that bloom late in the iris season. The standards are a soft, creamy yellow, while the broad falls open in pale lavender-purple framed by generous yellow margins. Clear yellow beards reinforce the warm coloring and create a natural connection between the standards and the edging of the falls. The combination of lavender and yellow remains soft despite the substantial size of the flowers. A slight spicy fragrance accompanies the blooms, which rise on tall stems above upright, sword-shaped green foliage.

'Dig In' was registered and introduced by Schreiner's Gardens in 2025 as part of its centennial-year introductions. Reaching nearly four feet in bloom, it is especially useful for adding height without introducing a visually heavy color. Its blend of lavender and yellow works easily among both warm and cool planting schemes, making it well suited to layered borders, cottage gardens, and cutting gardens.
