About this plant
Iris 'Ecstatic' is a tall bearded iris with exceptionally ruffled and laced flowers that bloom in midseason. The standards and falls share a soft orchid-pink coloring, creating a graceful, nearly uniform wash of pastel color across the flower. Tangerine beards fade to white at their tips, adding a warm accent without interrupting the overall softness of the blooms. A slight sweet fragrance accompanies the flowers, which rise above upright, sword-shaped green foliage.
Hybridized by Brad Collins, 'Ecstatic' was registered in 2023 and introduced by Schreiner's Gardens in 2025. Its name was inspired by the hybridizer's reaction when the seedling first flowered. The abundant ruffling and gentle orchid-pink coloring give it a romantic quality suited to borders and cottage-style plantings, while its relatively uniform coloring makes it easy to combine with both warm and cool pastels.
