Iris 'Final Episode'

Iris 'Final Episode' is a tall bearded iris with large, ruffled flowers that bloom in midseason. The standards are warm apricot-peach with a soft pink cast, while the broad falls deepen to rich plum-purple with warmer reddish shading near the shoulders. Golden beards provide a warm accent at the center, connecting the lighter standards with the deeper coloring of the falls. Gently waved and ruffled petal edges give the flowers a full, graceful form above upright, sword-shaped green foliage.

Hybridized by Barry Blyth, 'Final Episode' was registered in 2001 and introduced through Tempo Two in 2001/02. Its combination of peach, pink, plum-purple, and gold brings both warmth and depth to sunny plantings. The contrasting upper and lower petals remain distinctive from a distance, while their blended undertones make this iris easy to incorporate among apricot, burgundy, lavender, cream, and muted pink flowers.
