Iris 'Mango Entrée'

Iris 'Mango Entrée' is a tall bearded iris with broad, heavily ruffled flowers that bloom in midseason. The standards and falls share a warm honey-apricot coloring, giving the blossoms a beautifully unified appearance. Subtle veining adds definition to the falls near the center, while prominent tangerine-orange beards intensify the warm coloring. The softly rippled petals give the flowers fullness and movement without obscuring their simple color pattern. Upright, sword-shaped green foliage forms tidy fans beneath the flowering stems.

Hybridized by Australian iris breeder Barry Blyth, 'Mango Entrée' was registered in 1996 and introduced through Tempo Two in 1996/97. Its warm, almost glowing apricot coloring makes it particularly useful for bringing softness to sunny plantings dominated by stronger yellows and oranges. The monochromatic flowers also pair easily with blue, violet, burgundy, and silver foliage, making this an adaptable choice for mixed borders and cutting gardens.
