About this plant
Iris 'Vista Point' is a tall bearded iris with richly patterned flowers that open in late midseason. Deep wine-red standards rise above creamy white falls marked with matching burgundy-purple around the shoulders, through the center, and along the broad outer margins. A warm yellow glow appears just beneath the beards, creating a bright focal point within the darker patterning. The multicolored beards combine creamy white, warm brown, and purple. Upright, sword-shaped green foliage forms neat fans below the flowers.
Introduced in 2017 by Keith Keppel, 'Vista Point' received an American Iris Society Honorable Mention in 2019. Its dramatic combination of dark wine, cream, and golden yellow works beautifully in sunny borders, cottage gardens, and iris beds.

Design tip
Position 'Vista Point' where its detailed flowers can be viewed from nearby rather than across a large bed. Surrounding the clumps with simpler foliage shapes gives the patterned blooms room to stand out, while touches of burgundy elsewhere in the planting create a subtle visual connection.
