About this plant
Hosta x 'Wide Brim' produces pale lavender, bell-shaped flowers in midsummer, held on slender scapes that rise above the foliage and attract bees and other pollinators. Broad, heart-shaped leaves are blue-green with wide, irregular creamy yellow margins, creating a layered mound with bold texture and pronounced veining. The foliage remains full and colorful throughout the growing season, while the flowers add a light, airy accent above the leaves.
Originating through hybrid breeding using species native to eastern Asia, this cultivar was selected for its colorful variegation and dependable garden performance. It is well suited to woodland gardens, shaded borders, foundation plantings, and containers, where its distinctive foliage provides season-long texture and contrast.
