About this plant
Podophyllum × 'Red Panda' is a woodland perennial of garden origin bearing rounded peltate leaves richly mottled in deep green and mahogany tones that intensify as the season advances. In mid to late spring, pendent cup shaped flowers in warm red to burgundy are held beneath the foliage, adding depth and color within shaded plantings.
Rhizomatous growth forms slowly expanding colonies while each emerging leaf unfurls with a smooth surface and gently lobed outline. Selected in cultivation from Asian parent species, it produces foliage in spring, maintains active growth through summer, and enters dormancy in autumn before reemerging the following year.
