About this plant
Senecio cineraria 'Silverdust' forms finely cut foliage in soft silver white, each leaf deeply lobed and coated with a feltlike layer of hairs that gives the plant a cool, velvety appearance. The intricate leaves create a delicate, lace like mound through the growing season. In summer, slender stems may produce clusters of small yellow daisy like flowers held just above the foliage.
The species originates from the Mediterranean region, particularly coastal areas of southern Europe and northern Africa. In gardens, 'Silverdust' is valued for borders, containers, and bedding displays, where the pale foliage adds contrast and brightness among colorful flowering plants.
