Rosa 'Alfred Sisley' is a shrub rose celebrated for its multi-colored blooms that blend soft orange, pink, cream, and yellow tones. Each flower is semi-double with 26-40 petals and appears in generous clusters from late spring through frost. The blossoms carry a mild, fruity fragrance with notes of apple, pineapple, and a touch of spice. Its dark green, glossy foliage forms a lush backdrop, enhancing the floral display and adding depth to garden borders or containers.
Bred by Georges Delbard in France in 1998 and introduced in 2004, 'Alfred Sisley' honors the Impressionist painter with its painterly petals and lively coloring. This rose offers excellent repeat bloom, good disease resistance, and a compact habit that makes it well-suited for landscape use or cutting gardens.
Planting & care
Roses reward a sunny, open site with at least six hours of direct light, good air movement, and well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Water deeply and less often, soaking the root zone while keeping the leaves dry, and mulch with two to three inches of compost or shredded bark held back from the canes. Feed repeat-blooming roses in early spring as growth starts and again after the first flush, then prune in late winter to remove dead or crossing canes and open the center. Shrub roses need only light thinning, keeping their natural full shape and repeat bloom.
