About this plant
Rosa 'Brass Band' is a floribunda rose with blossoms in an apricot‑orange blend, often with pale orange edges and a yellow reverse. Its double, ruffled flowers appear in clusters from late spring through frost, carrying a light damask fragrance. The blooms open over glossy dark green foliage that remains generally healthy across the season.
Introduced in the United States in the mid‑1990s, 'Brass Band' was recognized as an All‑America Rose Selections winner in 1995. This cultivar is known for repeat flowering, clean leaf habit, and the way its petal tones deepen in cooler weather while maintaining charm in warmer months.
Planting & care
Roses reward a sunny, open site with at least six hours of direct light, good air movement, and well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Water deeply and less often, soaking the root zone while keeping the leaves dry, and mulch with two to three inches of compost or shredded bark held back from the canes. Feed repeat-blooming roses in early spring as growth starts and again after the first flush, then prune in late winter to remove dead or crossing canes and open the center. Floribundas bloom in generous clusters, and light shaping keeps the framework rounded and full.
