About this plant
Rosa 'Burst of Joy' is a floribunda rose featuring large, double blooms in bright orange-red that often mature to coral tones. These pointed-bud flowers appear singly or in small clusters from late spring through fall, emitting a mild tea fragrance. Glossy dark green foliage complements the fiery coloration and remains clean throughout the season. Its upright, bushy form is supported by sturdy stems, making it well-suited for garden beds, containers, or bouquets, and it consistently draws bees and butterflies.
Bred in the United States by Tom Carruth before 2016 and introduced by Spring Hill Nursery in 2019, this rose is noted for its heat-resistant bloom color, dependable disease resistance, and continuous flowering, 'Burst of Joy' offers ongoing garden interest and performance across varied climates.
Planting & care
Roses reward a sunny, open site with at least six hours of direct light, good air movement, and well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Water deeply and less often, soaking the root zone while keeping the leaves dry, and mulch with two to three inches of compost or shredded bark held back from the canes. Feed repeat-blooming roses in early spring as growth starts and again after the first flush, then prune in late winter to remove dead or crossing canes and open the center. Floribundas bloom in generous clusters, and light shaping keeps the framework rounded and full.
