About this plant
Rosa 'Coral Cove' is a shrub rose featuring clusters of double blooms that begin as dark pink and transition through orange to sunny yellow at the center. These blossoms appear in flushes from early summer through fall, set above glossy dark green foliage that remains healthy and disease-resistant. The rounded, compact form produces smooth, thorny canes. Pollinators are drawn to its abundant flower sprays, and the long bloom period offers enduring garden color.
Bred in the United States by Peter Ping Lim and introduced in 2010, Coral Cove is part of the Easy Elegance® collection. It earned the Portland Rose Society's Best Shrub Rose award in 2014. Its reliable reblooming, clean appearance, and color-changing petals make it a standout choice for borders, containers, low hedges, or mixed plantings.
Planting & care
Roses reward a sunny, open site with at least six hours of direct light, good air movement, and well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Water deeply and less often, soaking the root zone while keeping the leaves dry, and mulch with two to three inches of compost or shredded bark held back from the canes. Feed repeat-blooming roses in early spring as growth starts and again after the first flush, then prune in late winter to remove dead or crossing canes and open the center. Shrub roses need only light thinning, keeping their natural full shape and repeat bloom.
