About this plant
Rosa 'Dick Clark' is a grandiflora rose with large, showy blooms that start cream-centered and edged in cherry-pink, often deepening to burgundy in full sun. These double flowers, with a warm cinnamon-spice scent, appear in continuous flushes from late spring through fall, perched on long stems ideal for cutting. Glossy dark green foliage enhances the flowers, and the upright, bushy habit brings elegant structure to garden beds, borders, or hedges.
Developed by Tom Carruth in collaboration with Christian Bédard in the United States and introduced in 2011, this rose received the All-America Rose Selections award in its debut year. Known for strong disease resistance, consistent re-blooming, and dynamic color evolution through the season, 'Dick Clark' remains a popular centerpiece for gardeners and floral designers alike.
Planting & care
Roses reward a sunny, open site with at least six hours of direct light, good air movement, and well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Water deeply and less often, soaking the root zone while keeping the leaves dry, and mulch with two to three inches of compost or shredded bark held back from the canes. Feed repeat-blooming roses in early spring as growth starts and again after the first flush, then prune in late winter to remove dead or crossing canes and open the center. Grandifloras carry clustered blooms on taller stems, so a sturdy, open framework pays off.
