About this plant
Rosa 'Fiji' is a hybrid tea rose with deep cherry-pink, fully double blooms. The flowers open from tight buds into layered rosettes with frilled outer petals and a soft, fruity fragrance. They appear singly or in small clusters and repeat throughout the season. Glossy dark green foliage sets off the blooms and adds structure and shine to the plant's overall form.
Bred by Tim Hermann Kordes in Germany in 2002 and introduced to North America under the name Cherry Lady, this Eleganza® Series rose has exceptional disease resistance, long-lasting blooms, and durable performance, 'Fiji' offers reliable beauty and fragrance in both beds and bouquets.
Planting & care
Roses reward a sunny, open site with at least six hours of direct light, good air movement, and well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Water deeply and less often, soaking the root zone while keeping the leaves dry, and mulch with two to three inches of compost or shredded bark held back from the canes. Feed repeat-blooming roses in early spring as growth starts and again after the first flush, then prune in late winter to remove dead or crossing canes and open the center. Long, straight stems make hybrid teas ideal for cutting, so give each plant room and airflow.
