Rosa 'Gabriel Oak' is an English shrub rose with deep pink, many‑petaled rosette blooms that gently fade at the edges. These richly petaled flowers-each with strong, fruity fragrance-repeat from late spring through fall, gracing lush, rounded foliage and purple stems. Sleek, rounded growth and clean, dark green leaves reinforce its elegant form while fragrant blooms attract pollinators and add sensory delight to gardens.
Bred by David Austin in the United Kingdom and introduced in 2019, 'Gabriel Oak's vigorous, compact habit and disease‑resistant nature earned hands-on praise and display gold at the Chelsea Flower Show. The rose's classic coloration, fragrance, and reliable bloom make it a standout performer for hedges, borders, or cut‑flower planting.
Planting & care
Roses reward a sunny, open site with at least six hours of direct light, good air movement, and well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Water deeply and less often, soaking the root zone while keeping the leaves dry, and mulch with two to three inches of compost or shredded bark held back from the canes. Feed repeat-blooming roses in early spring as growth starts and again after the first flush, then prune in late winter to remove dead or crossing canes and open the center. Shrub roses need only light thinning, keeping their natural full shape and repeat bloom.
