Rosa 'Good As Gold' is a hybrid tea rose that opens with long, pointed buds unfolding into rich golden-orange blooms with subtle red accents along the petal edges. Flowers appear in repeat flushes from late spring through fall, releasing a moderate grapefruit‑citrus fragrance ideal for cutting. Bred by Tom Carruth in the United States and introduced in 2013, this rose earned the Portland Gold Medal in 2018 for its quality and performance. Planting & care
Roses reward a sunny, open site with at least six hours of direct light, good air movement, and well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Water deeply and less often, soaking the root zone while keeping the leaves dry, and mulch with two to three inches of compost or shredded bark held back from the canes. Feed repeat-blooming roses in early spring as growth starts and again after the first flush, then prune in late winter to remove dead or crossing canes and open the center. Long, straight stems make hybrid teas ideal for cutting, so give each plant room and airflow.
