About this plant
Rosa 'Julia Child' is a floribunda rose that blooms in buttery yellow tones-sometimes with a touch of softer gold as the petals age. The flowers open from pointed buds into generous ruffled forms and arise in clusters throughout the growing season, from late spring through fall. A sweet licorice‑clove fragrance enhances its floral presence, while super‑glossy, dark green foliage frames each bloom with refinement.
Introduced in 2006 (cultivar name WEKvossutono), this rose was selected by the chef Julia Child herself. It has earned accolades including the All‑America Rose Selections award. With clean disease resistance and reliable reblooming, it's a favorite in beds, borders, and for cut flower arrangements.
Planting & care
Roses reward a sunny, open site with at least six hours of direct light, good air movement, and well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Water deeply and less often, soaking the root zone while keeping the leaves dry, and mulch with two to three inches of compost or shredded bark held back from the canes. Feed repeat-blooming roses in early spring as growth starts and again after the first flush, then prune in late winter to remove dead or crossing canes and open the center. Floribundas bloom in generous clusters, and light shaping keeps the framework rounded and full.
