Rosa 'Meioffic', commonly known as 'Johann Strauss', is a floribunda rose that displays abundant clusters of creamy pink blossoms subtly washed with yellow from late spring through autumn. Each bloom possesses a gentle apple‑lemon scent and sits atop glossy dark green foliage that maintains a clean and lustrous appearance as the season progresses. Its bushy, compact habit produces recurrent flowering with minimal pruning, offering a graceful presence in beds, borders, or containers.
Bred by Alain Meilland in France before 1993 and introduced commercially in 1994 under the Romantica™ series, 'Meioffic' was patented in the U.S. in 1997. This rose is celebrated for its reliable reblooming, disease resilience, and softly hued flowers that provide serene elegance throughout the growing season. The floribunda also adapts well to mixed plantings, enriching the landscape with consistent charm.
Planting & care
Roses reward a sunny, open site with at least six hours of direct light, good air movement, and well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Water deeply and less often, soaking the root zone while keeping the leaves dry, and mulch with two to three inches of compost or shredded bark held back from the canes. Feed repeat-blooming roses in early spring as growth starts and again after the first flush, then prune in late winter to remove dead or crossing canes and open the center. Floribundas bloom in generous clusters, and light shaping keeps the framework rounded and full.
