About this plant
Rosa 'Mercury Rising' is a hybrid tea rose that produces large blooms with creamy centers and medium‑pink edges, often edged further with yellow in certain lighting. Flowers open in high‑centered, cupped form and carry a moderate fragrance. Blooms appear repeatedly from late spring through fall, displayed on glossy dark green foliage with good disease resistance. Its solitary flowers are well suited for cutting and display.
Bred by Meilland in France and introduced commercially in 2014, 'Mercury Rising' performs well in warm climates and maintains color even under heat. Its elegant blend of pink and cream tones and clean habit make it a pleasing choice for gardens that value continuity and refined floral form.
Planting & care
Roses reward a sunny, open site with at least six hours of direct light, good air movement, and well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Water deeply and less often, soaking the root zone while keeping the leaves dry, and mulch with two to three inches of compost or shredded bark held back from the canes. Feed repeat-blooming roses in early spring as growth starts and again after the first flush, then prune in late winter to remove dead or crossing canes and open the center. Long, straight stems make hybrid teas ideal for cutting, so give each plant room and airflow.
