About this plant
Rosa 'Nye Bevan' is a shrub rose with soft yellow, open cupped blooms that fade to cream as petals mature. Flowers appear in flushes from late spring through fall, carried on semi‑gloss foliage with medium‑green leaves and lightly scented with myrrh. The blooms have scalloped, loosely held petals assembled around golden stamens and display airy openness. Its upright bushy form supports a warm floral display that adds light and softness to mixed borders, containers, or garden beds.
Developed by David Austin in the United Kingdom and introduced in 2021, 'Nye Bevan' honors Aneurin "Nye" Bevan. It is valued for its clean health, recurring bloom cycles, and performance in both sun and part shade conditions.
Planting & care
Roses reward a sunny, open site with at least six hours of direct light, good air movement, and well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Water deeply and less often, soaking the root zone while keeping the leaves dry, and mulch with two to three inches of compost or shredded bark held back from the canes. Feed repeat-blooming roses in early spring as growth starts and again after the first flush, then prune in late winter to remove dead or crossing canes and open the center. Shrub roses need only light thinning, keeping their natural full shape and repeat bloom.
