About this plant
Rosa 'Olivia Rose Austin' is an English shrub rose opening with cupped rosettes of even mid‑pink blooms that emit a light to medium fruity fragrance. Blooming begins early in the season and appears in flushes well into the fall. Glossy dark green foliage frames the blooms on a well‑balanced shrub form, making the flowers stand out beautifully.
Bred in England by David Austin and introduced in 2014, 'Olivia Rose Austin' was named after the breeder's granddaughter. It carries about 90 petals per bloom, and its health and repeat blooming are frequently praised by growers. The rose softens in color during hot weather, and its flowers work equally well for cutting gardens, mixed beds, or container displays.
Planting & care
Roses reward a sunny, open site with at least six hours of direct light, good air movement, and well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Water deeply and less often, soaking the root zone while keeping the leaves dry, and mulch with two to three inches of compost or shredded bark held back from the canes. Feed repeat-blooming roses in early spring as growth starts and again after the first flush, then prune in late winter to remove dead or crossing canes and open the center. Shrub roses need only light thinning, keeping their natural full shape and repeat bloom.
