About this plant
Rosa 'Sunny Sky' is a hybrid tea rose that showcases large, honey‑yellow blooms with deeper golden centers and a mild, fruity fragrance. The double flowers open from pointed buds in flushes from late spring through fall. Glossy dark green foliage frames each blossom and supports repeated flowering with strong visual appeal.
Bred in Germany around 1999, this rose earned the ADR award in 2015 and the Portland Gold Medal in 2017. 'Sunny Sky' offers exceptional disease resistance and color that holds well in warm sunlight, making it a valued rose for cutting gardens or elegant borders.
Planting & care
Roses reward a sunny, open site with at least six hours of direct light, good air movement, and well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Water deeply and less often, soaking the root zone while keeping the leaves dry, and mulch with two to three inches of compost or shredded bark held back from the canes. Feed repeat-blooming roses in early spring as growth starts and again after the first flush, then prune in late winter to remove dead or crossing canes and open the center. Long, straight stems make hybrid teas ideal for cutting, so give each plant room and airflow.
