About this plant
Rosa 'Violet's Pride' is a floribunda rose that blooms in lavender‑violet with a bold magenta heart, the striking coloration intensified by a lavender reverse. The fully double blossoms appear in flushes from late spring through fall, each emitting a strong, spicy‑grapefruit fragrance that carries through garden paths. Glossy dark green foliage frames the blooms and supports repeat flowering under varied conditions.
This rose was bred by Christian Bédard and introduced by Weeks Roses in 2017. Named in honor of the Dowager Countess Violet from Downton Abbey, this rose is valued for its powerful scent, unique bicolor palette, and consistent bloom habit across seasons.
Planting & care
Roses reward a sunny, open site with at least six hours of direct light, good air movement, and well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Water deeply and less often, soaking the root zone while keeping the leaves dry, and mulch with two to three inches of compost or shredded bark held back from the canes. Feed repeat-blooming roses in early spring as growth starts and again after the first flush, then prune in late winter to remove dead or crossing canes and open the center. Floribundas bloom in generous clusters, and light shaping keeps the framework rounded and full.
