About this plant
Rosa 'Wekcisbako' (commonly called Home Run®) is a shrub rose that bursts into bloom with flame‑red, single blossoms held in generous clusters. The flowers emerge from late spring and continue in flushes through early fall, and they are noted for their clean, self‑cleaning habit. Dark green, glossy foliage frames the floral display.
Developed as a descendant of the Knock Out® line, Home Run® combines bold color, ease of care, and improved disease tolerance in modern landscapes. It is often praised for its resistance to black spot and clean foliage, making it a popular choice for garden beds, hedges, and mixed borders where lively red blooms and low maintenance are desired.
Planting & care
Roses reward a sunny, open site with at least six hours of direct light, good air movement, and well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Water deeply and less often, soaking the root zone while keeping the leaves dry, and mulch with two to three inches of compost or shredded bark held back from the canes. Feed repeat-blooming roses in early spring as growth starts and again after the first flush, then prune in late winter to remove dead or crossing canes and open the center. Shrub roses need only light thinning, keeping their natural full shape and repeat bloom.
