About this plant
Rosa 'WEKplapic' produces clusters of bicolor blossoms with red-edged petals that fade into creamy yellow centers. Each bloom is accented by bright golden-yellow stamens, giving the flowers a luminous, open appearance. The petals often curl slightly at the edges, adding texture to the rounded bush. The colors intensify with sun exposure, and the bush tends to bloom repeatedly throughout the season.
This floribunda rose was introduced in the United States in the late 1990s and is noted for its showy presence and consistent flowering. The fragrance is moderate, carrying a sweet, fruity scent that complements its vivid color scheme.
Planting & care
Roses reward a sunny, open site with at least six hours of direct light, good air movement, and well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Water deeply and less often, soaking the root zone while keeping the leaves dry, and mulch with two to three inches of compost or shredded bark held back from the canes. Feed repeat-blooming roses in early spring as growth starts and again after the first flush, then prune in late winter to remove dead or crossing canes and open the center. Floribundas bloom in generous clusters, and light shaping keeps the framework rounded and full.
