Abies concolor 'La Veta' is a compact, shrubby form of white fir that features soft, blue-green needles forming a dense, pillow-like mound. The foliage often shows a muted teal tone, with bright fresh growth emerging mint to light green in spring, giving an airy, cloud-like texture. In spring the tree produces pollen cones typical to concolor fir, offering subtle seasonal interest among the gentle blue-green foliage.
The cultivar 'La Veta' was selected for its dwarf, globe-like form and slow growth rate. It retains evergreen structure year-round, making it suitable for rock gardens, small-scale conifer plantings, and foundation beds where its soft foliage and compact shape provide a long-lasting, low-maintenance presence.
