Dahlia 'Awaikoe'

Dahlia 'Awaikoe' produces miniature collarette blooms with velvety dark red to burgundy outer petals surrounding a delicate ring of white petaloids and a golden-yellow center. Its open, daisy-like flowers provide easy access for pollinators and bloom freely from midsummer through fall, continuing until the first frosts.

Introduced before 1969, 'Awaikoe' is an older cultivar whose breeder and precise origin remain undocumented. Its compact, bushy growth and distinctive flowers suit mixed borders, cottage gardens, pollinator plantings, and cutting gardens. The contrasting burgundy, white, and yellow blooms also bring lively color and texture to informal bouquets and floral arrangements.
