Perennials
Paeonia x lactiflora 'Coral Supreme'
Coral Supreme Peony
Paeonia × lactiflora 'Coral Supreme' produces semi-double, bowl-shaped blooms in rich salmon-pink that soften to coral and apricot as they mature. Flowers appear in early to mid-season and are lightly fragrant, with golden stamens at the center. Held on strong stems, the blooms last well in vases when cut at the soft bud stage and perform reliably in the garden without support.
Introduced by Samuel Wissing in 1964, this cultivar forms a dense mound of glossy green foliage that remains attractive through summer.

Design tip
Use it as a steady framework plant, repeating it along a bed to tie separate plantings together. It takes sun or light shade, which makes it useful along the changing light of a bed edge or a partly shaded border.
