Blue star creeper forms low carpets of tiny green foliage covered in delicate star-shaped flowers through much of the summer season. Laurentia fluviatilis is grown for its fine-textured spreading habit and pale blue blooms that appear continuously above the dense mat of foliage during warm weather. The small flowers create a soft mist-like effect across pathways, between stepping stones, and along the edges of borders.
Its tightly woven growth habit allows this groundcover to soften hard edges and fill narrow gaps throughout the garden. Pratia pedunculata ‘County Park’ (shown here) contributes slightly larger blue flowers and a more vigorous spreading habit that helps create broader carpets of color between stepping stones and along pathways.
