Rosa 'Veterans' Honor'
Veterans' Honor Hybrid Tea Rose
Rosa 'Veterans' Honor' is a hybrid tea rose with large, high‑centered blooms in deep red. Flowers open singly atop long stems from late spring through fall and carry a light raspberry fragrance that enhances its garden presence. Glossy dark green foliage frames the blooms.
Bred by Dr. Keith Zary and introduced in 1997, this rose was named Jackson & Perkins' Rose of the Year in 2000.
Planting & care
Roses reward a sunny, open site with at least six hours of direct light, good air movement, and well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Water deeply and less often, soaking the root zone while keeping the leaves dry, and mulch with two to three inches of compost or shredded bark held back from the canes. Feed repeat-blooming roses in early spring as growth starts and again after the first flush, then prune in late winter to remove dead or crossing canes and open the center. Long, straight stems make hybrid teas ideal for cutting, so give each plant room and airflow.
