How to Choose
Mature size: Check the ten-year size as well as the eventual one, since dwarf rarely means small forever.
Form: Upright, spreading, mounding and weeping shapes each do a different job in the garden.
Needle color and texture: Blue, gold, silver and deep green foliage carries the garden through winter.
Sun and drainage: Most conifers want full sun and free-draining soil, with gold forms needing shelter from scorching heat.
