Rosa 'Legends'
Legends Hybrid Tea Rose
Rosa 'Legends' is a hybrid tea rose showcasing enormous, ruby-red blossoms carried on long, elegant stems. The double blooms reveal rich red petals and emit a gentle, spicy-tea fragrance. Blooms open from pointed buds in repeated flushes from late spring through fall, offering continuous drama. Its glossy foliage holds a unique red-green hue and remains healthy throughout the season.
Introduced by Weeks Roses in 2009, 'Legends' quickly drew acclaim, including Oprah's involvement in its naming. Its large petals, lasting color, and graceful form make it a garden favorite and superb for cutting.
Planting & care
Roses reward a sunny, open site with at least six hours of direct light, good air movement, and well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Water deeply and less often, soaking the root zone while keeping the leaves dry, and mulch with two to three inches of compost or shredded bark held back from the canes. Feed repeat-blooming roses in early spring as growth starts and again after the first flush, then prune in late winter to remove dead or crossing canes and open the center. Long, straight stems make hybrid teas ideal for cutting, so give each plant room and airflow.
