Irises
Irises are admired for their elegant, intricate flowers, which come in a range of colors from soft pastels to deep, rich shades. Their tall, slender stems and graceful blooms add movement and texture to gardens, while their unique flower structure, with ruffled petals and colorful contrasts, creates an alluring display. Irises make a beautiful focal point in both formal and informal garden settings.

How to Choose
Iris type: Bearded, Siberian, Japanese and Pacific Coast irises want quite different conditions, so start there.
Bloom season: Early and reblooming varieties extend a season that is otherwise concentrated in late spring.
Moisture and drainage: Bearded irises need dry, sunny, well-drained ground, while Siberian and Japanese types accept damp soil.
Height and color: Flower height ranges from dwarf edging types to stems well over three feet, in nearly every color.
